Last night was spent in food and wine wonderland as my mom and I enjoyed the Discovery Dinner featuring local Floridian specialties at The Wave restaurant. I’m working on editing pictures and writing up a full report, but until then I thought I’d leave you with a couple of pictures to whet your appetite. :)

As promised, I entered all the comments for the Stonyfield Farms YoBaby 3-in-1 Meals giveaway into random.org. The winning comment was #10 – Lorna Marion. Congratulations! I’ll be contacting you for your info to receive your prize pack!

YoBaby giveaway winner

#10 was chosen!

It’s no secret I am a Patriots fan, but since the Pats were out of the running I am more than happy for the Saints to have won Super Bowl 44. I think the best part of the game for me was following it on twitter with all my friends. The comments on the commercials and half-time show were hysterical. To show my support for the winning team, I thought I’d share my favorite photo from after the win last night:

YoBaby 3 in 1 Meals multipack

A while back I was given a chance to receive and review Stonyfield Farm’s new YoBaby Meals. I was completely intrigued by this concept. I had been a YoBaby fan from when they first came out, when my now 11 year-old was a baby. I think he survived on YoBaby organic yogurts for breakfast or lunch for more than a year!

I’m sure you’ve seen the new Cottonelle commercials featuring the debate of the ages – putting the toilet paper over or under when you start a new roll. If you’re anything like me, you are pretty passionate over your choice. I know I actually get kind of annoyed at the people on the commercials that say “Under!” How can they possibly feel under is the way to go? OVER is clearly the only choice, it shows the top of the roll that way – and every time you are in a hotel, you always know housekeeping has been there because they fold the TOP of the roll into a nice little triangle – hanging OVER the roll!! ;)

But don’t let my opinion sway you – you can now vote for your own choice, over or under! Head to http://www.cottonellerollpoll.com and place your vote!

Also, by leaving a comment on this post you will be entered to win 1 of 10 Cottonelle gift baskets randomly chosen on January 29, 2010 from all entries!

Disclosure: By posting this entry, I am entering a contest for a month’s worth of Cottonelle toilet paper as a member of the Mom Bloggers Club.

All Moms would agree that the joy that comes from having a new baby is priceless! The sweet sounds of cooing, chubby cheeks and the intimate bond between parent and child can make any family feel rich with love. But, as any new parents can attest, raising children can have an impact on your checkbook, as well as your heart. In fact, the typical family spends more than $221,000 raising a child through age 17. (That’s a fact I really didn’t want to think about!!)

MomSelect is thrilled to pass along the news of a fun contest that might lighten the load of one lucky family! Thanks to TurboTax®, one “last-minute” baby will help his or her parents save a bundle. TurboTax® the nation’s No. 1 rated, best-selling tax preparation software from Intuit Inc. is conducting its third annual nationwide search for America’s Cutest Last-Minute Tax Deduction. The parents of one lucky baby, born in December 2009, will win $5,000. My little guy has just enjoyed his 2nd Christmas and is not elligible, but I’m sure one of my readers knows someone who might benefit!

To enter, parents or legal guardians should submit a photo of their baby born between Dec. 1-31, to www.CutestTaxDeduction.com. The deadline for submissions is January 7, 2010. Judges will select 10 finalists, and America will determine America’s Cutest Last-Minute Tax Deduction and the $5,000 grand prize winner!

Further details, rules and eligibility are available at www.CutestTaxDeduction.com. You can follow @TurboTax on Twitter (#TTbaby) or visit TaxBreak, the new TurboTax blog for updates. This contest is brought to you by TurboTax and MomSelect.

Holiday Commercial Round Up!

With the exception of the Super Bowl, there are few times as exciting in the world of television commercials as the holiday season. There are some that stick with us for years, good or bad. I thought I’d share some of my favorites for 2009 as well as the ones that bug me the most!

Love the Island of Misfit Toys Verizon commercial. Poor iPhone!

Did you know Rayovac is the preferred battery of Walt Disney World and Disneyland resorts? I didn’t! They have just completed a new commercial set in Disneyland, seen through the eyes of a little princess visiting the park, and all the magic that appears as she makes some wishes. It’s a really sweet video and I was given the opportunity to share it with you all before it debuts on Good Morning America on Monday, December 21, 2010.

Wasn’t that adorable?! I just came *back* from Walt Disney World and it makes me want to run right back. (I’d buy all those light up wands and spinners if I could too those never get old!) I loved the song too!

In addition, Rayovac is offering its Facebook fans a $3 off coupon on their new Facebook page. Just become a fan, click the coupons tab and enter your email address to receive the coupon. That’ll be helpful to stock up for batteries this holiday season!

*Rayovac asked me to share this with my readers, but I have not been compensated in any way or provided with copy to post here. I received the video and coupon link from Rayovac, not from the Walt Disney Company or any of its employees.

Now that Epcot’s 14th Annual International Food & Wine Festival is coming to an end (November 8, 2009 is the last day), you may fear that your chance to sample international spirits is gone for another year. This is not the case because a new little spot opened up during the festival – La Cava del Tequila inside San Angel Inn at Epcot’s Mexico pavilion. Here you can experience an endless array of tequilas from rare to common as well as beers and specialty margaritas. In addition you can enjoy tapas-style food items as well, to form the perfect pairing to the spirits available. The full menu is available at The Disney Food Blog, who’s updates on twitter first informed me of the margarita I wanted to try – the Aguacate.
