Marvel Coming Attractions: Thor: Ragnarok and Guardians of the Galaxy

There are a few new Marvel movies making their debut into the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe in the coming weeks and months, so I thought having this spot to cover all of the buzz and released images and trailers would be a good idea. We are seeing a screening of Guardians of the Galaxy on May 2, so I’ll have a full review up after that. Until then, enjoy the official info below!

Thor: Ragnarok – opening November 3, 2017

Thor: Ragnarok

Official Marvel description:

In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer. Thor finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. First, he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk!

“Thor: Ragnarok” is directed by Taika Waititi and returns Chris Hemsworth starring as Thor and Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki. They are joined by Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, with Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.

Kevin Feige is producing with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Thomas M. Hammel and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Craig Kyle & Christopher Yost and Stephany Folsom and Eric Pearson.  Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok” thunders into U.S. theaters on November 3, 2017.

So, I must admit that seeing Thor with short hair, and not knowing much else about the film, I wasn’t too excited. Then, I saw the trailer below. I was hooked. I could only hope that they use Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” in the actual film, but I know that may be asking too much. (Yes, I’m a closet Led Zeppelin fan.) Add Jeff Goldblum, and Thor’s adorable deadpan, fish-out-of-water humor, and I maaay have watched this trailer about 20 times. Enjoy – and let me know what you think in the comments!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2

I’ve previously shared news about the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 but since then some new character posters have been released as well as another special look trailer. Also opening soon is Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout at Disney California Adventure’s former Tower of Terror. Disney just released info about the soundtrack and random/unique ride sequences that will accompany the different songs. Should be interesting! Check back for our Vol. 2 review after May 2nd for more Guardians info.
