August is now upon us and back to school sales are filling up the local stores. A great place to get some shopping done for the school year is right around the corner from Walt Disney World – the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores. I remember when I was little, I always loved going to the outlets up in New England for back to school clothes, shoes, and backpacks. Not surprisingly, consumers recently surveyed by the National Retail Federation noted that shopping smarter and stretching their budget will be a priority. Now, whether you’re a local or a visitor to our fine state, you could win a $50 gift certificate to use at any of the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores, one of Central Florida’s best-kept shopping secrets where you’ll find savings up to 75% off at select stores.
The village-style center offers a customer-friendly shopping experience and 50 spacious outlet shops with convenient store-front parking, including favorites: Aeropostale, American Swimwear, Carter’s, Converse Shoes, Dressbarn, Eddie Bauer Outlet, Fossil, G by GUESS, Gap Outlet, Izod, Levi’s® Outlet Store, Loft Outlet, NikeFactoryStore, Old Navy Outlet and featuring outlet exclusives; OshKosh, Reebok, Samsonite, Timberland, Tommy Hilfiger, Travelpro, Wilsons Leather Outlet and many more!
Tax-free days are now through midnight on Sunday but deals will still be happening throughout the month. Even if you don’t win the giveaway, you can still get in on the savings by downloading a coupon from the Center’s website, then bringing it to Travelpro at the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores to receive a coupon booklet valued up to $400 in savings. The Center is located at 15657 S Apopka Vineland Rd (SR 535), Orlando, FL 32821.

My favorite memory of back-to-school shopping is going with my mom and my sister to hit up all the office supply stores! Because my mother’s a teacher who needs school supplies, we’d help her out by keeping track of what was going to go on sale at each store. Many times, we would end up with piles of 1-cent school supplies!

I would look so forward to back to school shopping with my mom and my sister every year. Nothing beats a girls’ day out and who doesn’t love new clothes and supplies?

I always loved picking out my new Trapper Keeper, no joke! The school supplies always topped back to school clothing/shoes shopping for me.

I loved the new, fresh pencils and crisp, white paper. Sounds crazy, but it’s true!

My favorite memory is always begging my mom for the expensive cool stuff….hah, she’d always go straight to the little center display and get everything for a dollar 😛 Smart mom!

My favorite back-to-school memory is picking out my supplies. They all had to match! I used to go to the Sanrio (Hello Kitty) store and buy just about everything they had in the pattern of choice for the year, even if I didn’t need it.
Now, clothes weren’t nearly as fun. I remember literally plopping down in the middle of the store and refusing to try on any more clothes…and now that I have my own children, I’m paying for that ;-).

For me, back to school shopping always meant new, sensible & sturdy shoes. Something I hated but my mother revelled in wrestling me in to. Fond memories 🙂
