It’s no secret that I love John Carter. Now that John Carter is available on DVD and Blu-ray, there are even more cool things to discover about the movie and film-making process. Along with bonus footage, interviews, and bloopers, Disney’s Second Screen allows you to learn all sorts of behind-the-scenes secrets and facts. Check out the video below from director Andrew Stanton about how Second Screen works:
Here’s another video with commentary from Jon Favreau and others about the influence of John Carter over the years with the science fiction genre. The Edgar Rice Burrows classic series has been a passion of director Andrew Stanton for years, but he’s not alone in his love for this story.
If you haven’t yet seen the film, I urge you to run out and purchase the DVD or Blu-ray. It truly is a classic and my kids love it as well. Thanks to Disney, I’m also proud to be giving away a Blu-ray/DVD Combo pack of John Carter. I’m going to make it super easy to enter – simply leave a comment below sharing what you’re most looking forward to when you see John Carter – or, if you’ve already seen it, what you loved the most. Looking forward to seeing if it’s as bad as critics seemed to think it was. 🙂
Looking fwd to the entire film.
I’m looking forward to seeing how successfully the film adapts Edgar Rice Burrough’s classic story. Hopefully well!
I just saw the previews this past week for this movie and had no idear. I would say the grandeur of the scenes is what I looking forward to. Movies where two different cultures species meet – all of this sounds like a great movie. Then there’s the hero aspect. Tweeted!
I haven’t seen the movie, but it looks interesting. My mom really enjoys movies like this. Action, sci-fi, and possible comedy. I’m most looking forward to seeing if the critics were right about this one.
I missed out seeing it at the AP preview and just never had a chance to see it in theaters. I’m interested in it since I heard it was actually quite good and I enjoy scifi and Disney so this sounds like one I really want to see! (Finally! LOL)
Looking forward to see the whole movie.
I’m entering this contest to see if Suzannah can convert me into a John Carter fan if I win.! I haven’t seen the movie.
My favorite part of the movie was definitely Woola!
I am looking forward to watching the handsome John Carter fight off the bad guys! I love it when the hero wins! Also, I have heard it has slight religious undertones, so I look forward to figuring that out as well. Thanks for the opportunity to enter!
I’m looking forward to seeing this actor that I’ve never heard of and seeing if it’s any good. [email protected]
I am hoping to be able to check out JOHN CARTER soon! But from what I have seen, I think the alien dog Woola is a real kick! And I hope they make an action figure of him!

It really sadden me how this movie did not do as well as Disney was hoping for. It was a great movie with a interesting storyline, good acting, spectacular visual effects, and a good message. I would have really liked to see a sequel but I guess that won’t be happening. I’m looking forward to being able to enjoy the movie over and over again since most of the stuff that gets released these days is pretty awful.
I already watched the movie. 😉 I liked Woola of course and some of the dramatic back plot that made me wanna go “DUN DUN DUNNN.” Other parts I liked – They got one of my fav actors to be shirtless the whole movie and the villain was BALD.
Favourite scene has to be the fight scene between John and the mob, with those flashbacks of his… -Urgh. Got my heart beating.-
haven’t seen it yet but scifi if my fav genre, can’t wait to check it out!
I’m looking forward to a great sci-fi film with Taylor Kitsch (loved him as Gambit in the Wolverine movie). I wanted to see it when it was in theaters, but no one else wanted to go. It looked awesome in the trailer, so I’m excited to see it.
I loved the film, I’m most looking forward to seeing it again and seeing it now that I have read the books so I can compare, thanks for the chance.

I don’t know the story at all, so I’m looking forward to the whole adventure!
I watched it on a tiny screen on a plane and loved it, so it would be nice to see it on a full screen. 🙂

Looking forward to the story.
I am looking forward to seeing “The Scene” where you learn of how troubled his past is as he fights for his future. And, retweeted this. 😉
I want to see what others have seen! A great movie!
John Carter is an amazing film. Needs a sequel.
Woola stole my heart! I could watch this movie over and over just for him. Clever Calot!
