There has been a lot of buzz about the 2011 Walt Disney World Moms Panel applications, just as there was last year. Today, friend and fellow 2010 Moms Panelist Marc Lorenzo shared a video he compiled of our training trip last year. It brought back such wonderful memories of our time together at Walt Disney World, I got his permission to share it here with all of you as well. Each training trip is slightly different and focuses on whatever projects WDW has going on at the time that they’d like to promote, in addition to lots of bonding opportunities among the new panelists and some special surprises too – this is Disney after all! We all had some an amazing time just packed full of memories at every turn, thanks to Walt Disney World, Laura Spencer and her team! I hope you enjoy this glimpse into our training trip last year thanks to Marc:
I never did get around to finishing my reports for the trip, but you can read the first day of training, hopefully I’ll finish it up before December! You can catch the entire trip report from Kaylene J. at her blog FiveTimesBlessed.blogspot.com (see links to all of the days on the left of that page), Kathie F. at WhatNowKathie.com, and Amanda W. at her site, OhAmanda.com.
Have you applied to the 2011 panel? I’d love to hear from you if so!
I loved reading all of your Tweets, reports and seeing the photos from last year. As I mentioned to you earlier, I had chills watching Marc’s video. Hoping for some major Peace, Love and Pixie Dust to come my way.
I definitely hope the pixie dust is blowing your way, you would be a
wonderful addition to the panel, I think! xoxo
You know what strikes me most in all the posts I’ve read about the Disney Moms Panel here on zannaland & other blogs, the tweets, etc. over my past year of lurking? The word “bonding.” It’s brought up again and again, by many people. Aside from the opportunity to share one’s Disney love and planning prowess, I can’t think of a more compelling reason to apply. It kind of reminds me of how many of us feel about Disney – it’s like coming home. And for you and others on the panel, it’s like coming home to spend time with family (family that you want to see). Thanks so much for sharing these insights with us.
You hit the nail on the head. When I’d read the 2009 Moms tweets, it was what made me want to apply as well. I wanted to have that “Disney Mom BFF” experience too. Even though our training group was twice as large, we all still found a way to bond and become family. It’s something that I can never properly thank Disney and the team behind the panel for, because it’s just so intangible. How can you adequately thank someone for blessings like this?
Thank you so much for your comment and for taking the time to express what we all feel as well. ♥
Loved it, it was amazing, left me salivating to fulfill such a dream! Will apply next year for sure. I second dkp, what a blessing it must be to have the opportunity to build lasting friendships through the DMP journey. Sweet!
It truly is – I hope you apply next time around! 😀
Wow, that is just incredible! I really hope to have the opportunity to be a part of such a special tight-knit group like this someday! (maybe this year?!?!) I had tears in my eyes watching it. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching and for your comment! I definitely recommend applying – you never know! 😀
Makes me want this even more. I applied last week and, like all the other applicants, am anxiously awaiting to hear!
Thank you for posting this. My fingers are crossed to move onto rounds two and three!
Sending pixie dust your way – best of luck!!
hi suzanna. i have applied for the panel this year and am pretty pumped about the possibilities. 🙂 it took me an hour and a half to answer those 3 questions. i wrote from my heart and then printed them and reworked them until i had filled each question with my best 100 words! it was great. of course after i had submitted it, i kept reading and re-reading what i’d written and wondering if i should’ve said this or that? i am just hoping and praying to get the email regarding the second round. how in the world did you wait? it’s killing me! well, not really but it’s so tough. it’s such a dream and i’m used to being able to pursue a dream. in this case, i wait for it. 🙂 and i will wait as patiently as possible. my husband and 3 little boys will be excited for the suspense to end as well. i love your blog and it was super helpful and encouraging to me as i entered the application process. i hope we are able to meet face to face. that will happen if this dream becomes a reality. thanks again suzanna.
Thank you so much…it means so much to me that you found the blog encouraging and helpful. 🙂 Your experience definitely sounds like mine last year – I wish you the best of luck and lots of pixie dust!! Keep me posted! 🙂
Thanks for posting this — and thanks to my FB friend Marc for allowing it to be shared! I did apply for the Moms Panel! It was an exciting thing to do, and while I don’t think I’ve got a chance, who knows? I’m honored that my application is being reviewed, if I don’t make the next stage, I’ll just try again next year!
Thanks!
That’s a great attitude! Best of luck with the application!! 😀
Thank you for sharing the video!! I’ve tried out every single year and just tortured myself by watching your video, lol. What an opportunity and I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that one day my dream (at least one of them) will come true and I can be on the panel.
Best of luck to you! I’m glad you enjoyed Marc’s video – it was an amazing experience! 🙂
Yes, I applied! I only get nervous when I think about it 😉 I feel like I should already know the answer to this question, but I don’t. Do you serve on the Panel for just one year, or is it a longer commitment? Once a Panelist, always a Panelist? Regardless, I am really hoping this year will be my turn!
Hi Jodi, the ‘official rules’ this year stated you must be willing to commit to a 2 year time period and 25 questions a week. After that, I’m really not sure what Disney has planned, they like to changed it up and keep things fun! 🙂 Best of luck!!
Zanna – I loved the video! I’ve become obsessed with checking my email to see if I’ve made the second round and making excuses why I may have not made it. Did I spell check? Was I not specific enough about my dates? Was the key word “pixie?” Maybe I had to apply three times before they will take me seriously. Who is “they” anyway? Do the previous panelists help with the search? So many questions. I have noticed that there are very few “leaks” when it comes to the application process. I should be more positive about the outcome of my fate. Will they keep me for more than 2 years because I am so invaluable? What if I answer 50 questions a week? Will they promote me to 2012 Moms Panel Search Coordinator? On that note – I’m so excited to meet all my new friends in December! And, Zanna, thank you for all the updates and information you have passed along to all of us “hopefuls”.
Kelly M.
I loved your comment and a lot of your questions were exactly what I was asking last year too! I think there are so few “leaks” regarding the process because it is handled by actual cast members and has nothing to do with us panelists. I know when I first became obsessed…er…discovered the panel, I thought the panelists helped out with the process too. I’m not sure why, I guess it just seems to make sense. As for everything else, all I can do is wish you the best of luck and say, with Disney, anything is possible! 🙂
Thanks for your sweet comment! 🙂
I’d love to apply for the 2012 panel of moms — when do they start recruiting applications?
New applications have been taken in early September the last 4 years. 🙂
Good luck!
Hi, I just saw that they announced that they are taking new applications for the Disney Moms panel Septemeber 12. I’m so excited to apply. I have a question about the qualifications. I’m not sure if you can answer it. If you are a former WDW employee can you apply? Thanks for your help!
Hey there. I was a former cast member and I know several other Moms were as
well, so as long as you aren’t currently or your immediate family is not a
cast member, you’re fine. 🙂 Good luck!
Hi, Zanna! I just wanted to thank you for your blog. I applied for the panel last year, and was not chosen. This year I am READY! I enjoyed the information you posted, as well as the tips. Thanks again!
