Disney Infinity, Disney Interactive’s biggest and most ambitious video game to date, is embarking on a multi-city “Summer of

Endless Fun” tour to showcase the most anticipated game of the year. The cross country road trip, which is free to the public, kicked off on July 7 in the Downtown Disney District in Anaheim, Calif. Players will get an exclusive sneak peek at the game before it hits store shelves on Aug. 18.

Zigzagging across the country, fans will get the chance to play Disney Infinity – featuring the innovative Toy Box mode that truly brings every kids’ imagination to life. Who hasn’t thought about building a world where Mr. Incredible uses a Monsters University toilet paper launcher while driving around in Cinderella’s carriage with monster truck wheels? Now players can let their imaginations run free and create their own adventures.

The “Summer of Endless Fun” Tour will make stops in Chicago, San Diego, Boston, Detroit and Richmond, culminating with a

weekend of launch activities in New York City on Saturday, Aug. 17 and Sunday, Aug. 18. Activities at each tour stop include game demos, surprise guests, photo opportunities, giveaways, contests, entertainment provided by Radio Disney and more.

Disney Infinity is an all-new game platform that gives players the freedom to create stories and play experiences featuring characters from The Walt Disney Company and Pixar Animation Studios. Players can place real-world toy versions of beloved Disney characters onto a device called the Disney Infinity Base and transport them into the virtual game worlds of Monsters University, the Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean, Cars and The Lone Ranger, as well as into a giant Toy Box.

Toy Story 3 – Start a New Family Tradition

I’m sure by now any Disney fan reading this has already purchased Toy Story 3 on Blu-ray + DVD…however on the off chance you have not, or perhaps you are new to the wonders of Pixar and Walt Disney Pictures, I am here to persuade you to run out and pick it up right now. I’ll be honest, when I was given Toy Story 3 to review, I avoided it – not because I didn’t want to talk about it – but the opposite, I knew I’d want to talk too much about it. I’ve already discussed some of the cool bonus features and fun facts about the animated short Day & Night on the DVD and Blu-Ray. Now I’ll share why this film should be in your collection.

When I first saw Toy Story 3 in theatres, I was prepared for an emotional roller coaster. Truth is, I was a wreck at the closing scene. Yes, the first installment of the Toy Story trilogy came out before I was even married, much less had children, yet I still associate the movies with my two oldest children and watching them grow up. This mixes with memories of moving to Orlando with my family and becoming cast members. At the time, the Toy Story parade was the one that filled Hollywood Boulevard each day at the then Disney-MGM Studios (now of course Disney’s Hollywood Studios). As a result, each time I hear Randy Newman’s “Strange Things” I’m reminded of that fun and exciting time in our life. It wasn’t just Andy that grew up, it was me too. I married my high school sweetheart, we had 2 beautiful children and my mom went from being my mom to being my children’s grandmother too, my dad passed away, my husband and I had another  beautiful child. So there was a lot of emotion wrapped up in this little film from Pixar, which had absolutely nothing to do with me, yet so very much to do with me.

Hidden Pixar References in “Day & Night” + Toy Story 3 Coupon for DVD+Blu-Ray

Day and Night One of my favorite parts of Disney•Pixar films are the shorts we get to enjoy before the feature. Day & Night was no exception, with its unique and endearing take on the differences that can unite us.

With Toy Story 3 set to be released next week on DVD, I thought I’d bring you some behind-the-scenes info on the making of the film, as well as some fun facts (like hidden easter eggs within the film referencing other Pixar productions) about the short.

For those who have not seen Toy Story 3 in theatres yet, here is a synopsis of Day & Night and a Question and Answer session from Director Teddy Newton:

When Day, a sunny fellow, encounters Night, a stranger of distinctly darker moods, sparks fly! Day and Night are frightened and suspicious of each other at first, and quickly get off on the wrong foot. But as they discover each other’s unique qualities–and come to realize that each of them offers a different window onto the same world—the friendship helps both to gain a new perspective.
Running time: 6 minutes

NEWS: Toy Story 3 Avatar Items Hit the Xbox Live Marketplace!

ts3xbox This update comes to you from my son, who greeted me this morning with this news and advised me to blog about it. Not one to turn away a good story when I see one, I’m now sharing this info with you! I’m not embarrassed to say my son is rather addicted to video games. We monitor his play and actions but in addition to playing with local friends on Xbox Live, he’s also met some great same-aged friends from across the globe. His interest has led him to start his own game review site with a few of those friends: ArcticHawk.com where he shares reviews of all games from their point of view and will be venturing into the world of vlogging soon too. I’m proud of him for wanting to start something like this and for having a creative outlet outside of the game play itself that he can carry with him and change as he does.

Dress your avatar like Buzz!

So in conjunction with the new Toy Story 3 video game, set to release along with the Toy Story 3 movie on June 15, 2010, Xbox Live Marketplace is offering some items to allow your avatar to dress up like Jesse, Woody or Buzz and even wear a Green Army Men jacket or a Star Command or Sunny Side Daycare t-shirt. You can also use Xbox Live points to purchase toys in the likeness of your favorite characters, including my new favorite – Lotso Huggin Bear! (There’s also the creepy one-eyed Baby Head Toy from the original Toy Story movie, which I’m sure will be a popular item for the tween boy set.)

Wear a Green Army Men Jacket!

To check out all the items, which range in Xbox Live Points price from 240 down to 80 points a piece,  and see some screenshots from the upcoming Toy Story 3 game release on Xbox 360, head over to the Xbox Marketplace and check them out. Thanks to my son Christian from ArticHawk.com for the heads up!
