Guest Post: Tom Bricker Shares Spectacular Highlights From Cars Land

I’m so pleased to have Tom Bricker back sharing his amazing photo skills and some highlights from his recent visit to the grand opening of Cars Land at Disney California Adventure. Please welcome Tom again and enjoy his post below:

Cars Land at Disney California Adventure is quite possibly the most beautiful land in any Disney theme park, and is definitely the most immersive. As soon as you set foot in Cars Land, you feel as if you’ve exited Disney California Adventure and stepped foot onto Route 66 in the Pixar film, Cars. Words certainly do not do the beauty of this amazing new land justice, and even photos barely do it justice. That said, I’ll try to do justice to the jaw-dropping beauty of Cars Land by sharing some photos I’ve taken of this all-new land.

Photo Tour of the Epcot’s All-New Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar in Italy

Tutto Gusto
Another view of the Tutto Gusto sign

Construction is finally complete and today saw the grand opening of Tutto Gusto (gusto means flavor or taste in Italian) wine cellar in Epcot’s Italy pavilion at the World Showcase. The new building blends right in to the existing Tutto Italia restaurant while making a nice segue to Via Napoli’s more rustic stable-like structure.

While the Italy pavilion is now dominated by dining options, the new additions of Via Napoli almost two years ago and now Tutto Gusto really make a nice “village” feel to the area. With the exception of the smoking area that seems to have cropped up around the fountain, Italy now is a place I’d love to just sit and take in the lovely architecture and atmosphere.

Tutto Gusto will be a great option for those looking for a quick bite or dessert or a glass or two from the over 200 wines offered in their collection. The menu offers small plates such as cured meats, cheeses, panini, and pasta as well as desserts. We’ll be back soon to do a full review, but for now, I thought I’d leave you with some photos to whet your appetite, including the menu. Divertiti!

Tutto Gusto wine menu. WAY too many pages to photograph!
Tutto Gusto
Another view of the bar, I love how the lights are empty wine bottles.
Tutto Gusto
The most desireable locale in Tutto Gusto, in my opinion, cute little couches, comfy chairs and this nice, rustic fireplace.
Tutto Gusto
Pastry, cheese and meats case.
Tutto Gusto
Nice detail with exposed stone walls.
Tutto Gusto
Many, many, wines, chilling.
Tutto Gusto
Chefs and barmen alike, await your order.
Tutto Gusto
Like La Cava, the feel inside is definitely cellar-like with stone work and arches, wooden and brick ceilings complete the mood.
Tutto Gusto
Extensive full bar – expect this to be as busy as La Cava del Tequila or Rose & Crown.
Tutto Gusto
View right inside the doors, this is what it looks like when the doors open and flood the room with light.
Tutto Gusto
These ancient-looking wooden doors are ultra modern and open automatically. Could be annoying in mid-day for guests expecting a truly cellar-like experience, but still a cool feature.
Tutto Gusto
The emphasis on “Wine Cellar” makes it clear this is part of Tutto Italia.

Will you add Tutto Gusto to your World Showcase tour?

Ok, so those of you following me on twitter will know that today was spent in the company of some lovely fellow blogging/podcasting/reporting/writing friends at the Happiest Place on Earth. Some local media was treated to a sneak peek of Walt Disney World’s new Summer Nightastic event. As a result I have lots to post and share, with pictures and maybe even some video. First, however, I had to show you all something that caught my eye an Imagineer involved in Summer Nightastic’s creation was speaking to us:

Imagineering Name Tag
Behold, the Walt Disney Imagineering name tag! Thanks to @roraboriealice for taking this picture when my camera couldn't capture it.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think that’s the coolest thing ever. I love the old-school 60’s/70’s fonts and the ‘class of’ at the bottom. For Disney history buffs, this is such a nice tribute. I’m sure as a Walt Disney Imagineer, the name tag is the last thing that could be categorized as part of the amazing job description or skills used…but it’s still a fun perk, I think.

Stay tuned for more Summer Nightastic updates! I can’t wait to show you what’s in store.
