Tinker Bell Disney Dooney & Bourke Bags to Debut at Disneyland Half Marathon

Ok, now it’s bad enough that Disneyland’s inaugural 1/2 Marathon has a Tinker Bell theme and I will not be able to attend (or run for that matter!) but now DisneyParks Blog has just announced that a new Disney Dooney & Bourke bags with the Tink design will also debut for the weekend! Torture, I tell ya!

Here’s what we know so far:

It looks like there are three styles, all previously released – the Medium Tote will be $198, Letter Carrier will be $168 and Flap Wristlet will be $49. The Art of Disney Parks site notes that these purses will feature the special inaugural Disneyland 1/2 Marathon hanging tags – the green tag shown in the photos. This is the first time the name of an event will ever be placed on a Disney Dooney & Bourke bag. I personally love the design, and may have to contact my Disneyland pals to pick me up one! I may not be running THIS half marathon, but I will some day! 😉

Here is some new information about the bags:

My source tells me from their understanding they won’t be carried online at this point. They are also advising guests who are interested that they will need to wait until after the marathon to inquire with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Merchandise Guest Services at 1-877-560-6477 or send an email to: [email protected]

Disney Dooney and Bourke Mickey Comic Strip Design Bags

I realized I had never posted about these bags, I guess because the Disney Parks Blog covered them completely and I just forgot to go back and add the photos. I like to have all the bags covered on the site, so here you go!

These bags showed up on the scene in October and are now available at DisneyStore.com.. The bags feature black and white Mickey Mouse comics, with red, black, or turquoise blue accents and straps:

NEW Peace-Love-Mickey-Live-Laugh-Minnie Disney Dooney & Bourke Bags

On the last Disney Dooney & Bourke Balloon Design post, I mentioned there was another style – a blue denim background with writing on it – the Erica style of Dooney & Bourke’s fabric line. Thanks in part to Tonya2426 on the DIS Boards, I am able to share some more pictures with you.

EDIT: I have now been to Tren-D again and seen these new designs in person so I have a bit more to add. I tried to capture this on the picture below, but the writing on these new bags is actually raised up and has a velveteen flocked feel. I didn’t realize that in all the other pictures, so I wanted to pass that information along to those making their lists and checking them twice with these new styles that keep coming out! 🙂

This style is definitely more subtly “Disney” while being graphically trendy. I’m not a big denim person, but I can see how this would appeal to lots of teens and those that want to show their Disney love without big Mickeys everywhere. What do you think of the new style?

Disney Dooney and Bourke Cindy Sketch Design in NEW Colors and Styles!

Apparently I had missed this bit of news, but was quite excited to see these new designs thanks to my good friend Charles (who was nice enough to buy one for his lovely wife’s birthday!) You read the title right, the original “Cindy Sketch” print (without Minnie Mouse from the second edition of the print) is now out in new COLORS! The print is actually slightly re-worked, with the first edition Disney World/Disneyland banner, the Dooney & Bourke leather tag, less balloons, and no Minnie. Available in a letter carrier style and the wristlet – the designs come in hot pink, bright purple, sky blue, sun yellow, and grass green – the perfect accessory for summer!

Disney Dooney & Bourke CRUISE Edition!

Well what to my wondering eyes should appear – a brand NEW Disney Dooney & Bourke design! That’s right folks, the Disney Parks Blog just released a fabulous new picture showcasing the all-new Dooney & Bourke design – exclusive to the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic ships.

This design is similar to the first Disney Dooney & Bourke sketch print, but this time our favorite Disney Cruise Line icons are featured. Check out the new handbags and purses below:

Well, we knew this was coming, Disney and designer Ian Ray of Dooney & Bourke have come out with more amazing new Disney Dooney & Bourke designs! According to the official Disney Parks Blog, there will be a Dooney & Bourke special event at Tren-D to welcome the new handbags. If you are in the Downtown Disney area on February 26 from 4:30-6:30, be sure to stop by Tren-D to meet Dooney & Bourke designer Ian Ray and even get a special gift from Mr. Ray with a $150 or more Disney Dooney & Bourke purchase.

PART TWO in the Disney Dooney & Bourke Handbag series:

If you have been following the mania that is Disney’s collaboration with Dooney and Bourke with its first foray into Disney park-themed designer handbags, you’ll know by now that there’s a new kid on the block – and his name is Mickey.

Dooney & Bourke has now come out with a new style and color for the winter – PVC-coated black cotton design with bright multicolored Mickey Mouse silhouettes and black leather straps.

Disney Dooney & Bourke Cindy Sketch Designer Bags

I first heard of the marriage of Disney designs with Dooney & Bourke purses from a good friend on twitter. He’d seen the posting on a popular Disney-related message board. I hopped over to check it out and, like hundreds of others, I instantly fell in love.

As with most things Disney, once word of mouth gets started, it spreads like wildfire. People reading the message boards and seeing the pictures posted needed one right away and didn’t want to chance waiting until their next visit to see if they were still in stock. If you’ve visited Disney a lot, one thing you learn is that merchandise changes frequently. There may be some tried and true items you can always find in the parks and resort shops, but other special or limited edition items may disappear within months. Of course there is always ebay, but you are then paying quite a markup and must deal with the possible risks associated with a third party seller.

For those familiar with Dooney & Bourke purses, the Disney designs are similar in style and design aesthetic to the Hearts or Fantasy designs D&B has made popular. The Disney D&B bags currently come in 3 different sizes: [links are for size/feature reference and do not show Disney design] Medium Cindy Tote, smaller Tassel Tote, and Wristlet. Best of all, if you have a Disney Visa, Disney Annual Pass or other discount you can use in certain stores, you are be able to get 10% off your purchase. The purses are exclusive to Disney Parks and not available where regular Dooney & Bourke bags are sold.
