PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 19, 2010 — Disney announces an online contest on Family.com to win a trip to the grand opening celebration of Disney Store’s Times Square, New York City location on November 9 and a starring role during the star-studded opening ceremony. The crown jewel of Disney Store’s slate of store openings around the world this year, the Times Square location will be celebrated with magical festivities including celebrity appearances, live musical performances, a parade of Disney’s most beloved characters and interactive experiences storewide. Beginning October 19, Disney fans will have just one week to register online for the chance to join the fun in-person, win a $250 shopping spree, and have the distinction of their child taking the stage to turn the key to imagination and officially unlock the all-new Disney Store in Times Square. The lucky family will also meet award winning singer Jordin Sparks during a private VIP reception after she performs Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” theme song, which she rerecorded to celebrate the 2010 release of the Blu-Ray and DVD.

NEW Peace-Love-Mickey-Live-Laugh-Minnie Disney Dooney & Bourke Bags

On the last Disney Dooney & Bourke Balloon Design post, I mentioned there was another style – a blue denim background with writing on it – the Erica style of Dooney & Bourke’s fabric line. Thanks in part to Tonya2426 on the DIS Boards, I am able to share some more pictures with you.

EDIT: I have now been to Tren-D again and seen these new designs in person so I have a bit more to add. I tried to capture this on the picture below, but the writing on these new bags is actually raised up and has a velveteen flocked feel. I didn’t realize that in all the other pictures, so I wanted to pass that information along to those making their lists and checking them twice with these new styles that keep coming out! 🙂

This style is definitely more subtly “Disney” while being graphically trendy. I’m not a big denim person, but I can see how this would appeal to lots of teens and those that want to show their Disney love without big Mickeys everywhere. What do you think of the new style?

Thanks to my twitter followers for looking out for me, I was able to discover these adorable new Disney Dooney & Bourke Balloon styles!

As of now there are 6 new styles plus the snap wristlet, which was only available in white. I asked if the wristlet came in black and was told no.

Duffy the Disney Bear Arrives in Epcot-Photo Tour of Everything Duffy

Today saw the arrival of Duffy the Disney Bear to his new home at Epcot’s World Showcase. Fans, media and Disney Cast Members alike queued up to welcome Duffy, get their picture taken and perhaps even pick up a Duffy plush bear to take home. Duffy’s meet and greet area is in a newly constructed *shaded* gazebo overlooking the flagship merchandise shop – “Everything Duffy.”

Walt Disney World Ambassador Vanessa Rosas introduced Vice President of Epcot, Dan Cockerell who then welcomed Mickey (dressed in his sea captain outfit) and Duffy from the nearby Friendship boat landing. After singing the official Duffy song and cutting the ribbon, Duffy headed over to the first of his two appearances: 12:20pm – 2:30pm and 3:45pm – 7:00pm. Be sure to check the official times guide or with Guest Relations to see when Duffy is appearing during your visit.

Speaking with Disney Trading Project Manager and all around cool guy, Steven Miller (who let me know today he’s taking on more projects, including Duffy – awesome!), he expressed the excitement about bringing Duffy on board and the many new things to come in the next few months. He was just shown a mock-up of the promised Duffy Ear Hat and said it looks great. Can’t wait to see it!

It was a good sign for potential success that all the World Showcase-themed costumes were sold out in a matter of hours! More are on the way and “Everything Duffy” Cast Members told us there will be a Halloween costume coming soon along with the other Duffy holiday and celebration costumes we mentioned previously on ZannaLand.

25 Years of Pixar’s Archives Gallery Slideshow

Pixar has created 11 films over the course of more than 25 years and over that time has accumulated countless works of art within their archives. Pixar: 25 Years of Animation is the exhibition that kicked of in NYC back in 2005 (when it started it was “20 years of animation”). The tour then traveled throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and more before returning to the studio’s backyard at the Oakland Museum of California the end of July. The show features 500 pieces, including some from the box-office record-breaking hit – Toy Story 3.

I remember first seeing Pixar animation back in the 90’s when I attended the annual Spike and Mike’s Animation Festival at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Boston. Good times. Pixar really has been leading animation for many decades now, so it’s wonderful to see the process and behind-the-scenes creations that lead to the on-screen masterpieces.

Today cnet.com is running a photo slideshow of some of the exhibit’s amazing items so I thought I’d give my readers the heads up to check it out if you are unable to attend the museum exhibit. As Disney fans, I’m sure we’ve all seen quite a few of these pictures, but perhaps you’ll see something new or enjoy a second look. To infinity and beyond!

On Disney XD’s 10|10|10 Top Ten Marathon-YOU Decide What Shows To See!

On October 10th – (10/10/10), Disney XD will be airing a viewer-picked marathon of top ten favorites from “Phineas and Ferb,” “Kick Buttowski – Suburban Darevevil” and “Zeke and Luther“. The marathon will air from 8am – 11pm and kids (and adults!) can vote now on Disney XD’s site for their favorite video clips. Options include Agent P’s Top 10 Saves for “Phineas and Ferb,” Top 10 Stunts for “Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil” and Top 10 Funniest Schemes for “Zeke and Luther.”

In addition to video clips from each episode, (which I could sit and watch from 8am-11pm anyway – love Phineas & Ferb!) kids can have ‘tens of fun’ with 10 different games from the hit series. The top scores from each game will be featured on-air during the marathon. Head over to Disney XD to watch, play and vote now, then enjoy the results on 10/10/10!

Epic Mickey Brings a Whole New World to Disney Gaming!

In our house, we’ve been talking about Disney Epic Mickey for a long, long time. With my husband and son being avid gamers, they were super excited about both the advanced gameplay that would be present in Epic Mickey and the Disney characters brought to life from Oswald the Lucky Rabbit all the way through to present day. In case you haven’t seen what Epic Mickey is all about, here is what Disney has to say:

“Disney Epic Mickey is an action-adventure platforming game for the Wii console that sends Mickey Mouse on an epic journey of creativity and discovery. As Mickey, the player is propelled into Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney’s long forgotten characters and attractions, and is given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world while determining Mickey’s path to becoming an epic hero.
