NEWS: Dates for Disney Dooney & Bourke Charms, Retro Bags and More New Styles!

We’ve been waiting for a while to get the official release date on the recently announced Disney Dooney & Bourke Charms and Retro Walt Disney World bags. The Disney Parks Blog today announced the date – so mark your calendars! The new collections will debut on July 14 at TrendD in the Downtown Disney Marketplace at Walt Disney World Resort. Similar to that May event in California for their Retro Collection, Ian Ray, creative director for Dooney & Bourke, and Disney Design Group artist Susan Foy will be on hand for the release. TrenD will open at 9:30 a.m. on July 14. The meet and greet opportunity with Ian and Susan will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

UPDATE – Disney Event Services has given us some more details on the day’s event AND how you can PRE-ORDER your bags!

In addition, the Parks blog let us in on some new styles in the works. The original Cindy Sketch design that ignited the spark of Disney Dooney & Bourke madness will now be released in nylon versions, with a backpack, satchel, letter carrier and pocket satchel. These new styles are hoped to be released with the other collections on July 14, but they may appear at a later date.

Disney Dooney and Bourke Walt Disney World Retro Collection Bags

I’ve just received some more photos featuring the Walt Disney World version of the Retro Collection from Dooney & Bourke and wanted to share them here. I’m pretty excited about this pattern. These bags, along with the Buttons and Charms collection, will be out later this year. I will post additional photos, styles and prices as I get the information.

NEW Disney Dooney and Bourke “Buttons” and “Charms” Bags!

Correspondent Nicole Siscaretti is experiencing Disney’s “A Summer to Remember” media event and sharing all sorts of news about “What’s New, What’s Next” at Disney Parks. I had to pause and share her latest photos – the all new Disney Dooney & Bourke “Buttons” collection and another new design – “Charms” from Courtney Williams. NEW Dark Brown Leather Disney Dooney & Bourke Sketch Design Bags

I was just given a heads up about this new Disney Dooney & Bourke style that has popped up in both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. Very similar to the dark brown leather Aulani Dooney & Bourke, which has been consistently sold out and extremely popular, this style features the original Cindy Sketch, in dark brown embossed leather design.

From what I have been told these are available at both Disneyland (Disney Clothiers and Vault 28) and Walt Disney World (TrenD and World of Disney). I will update with any further news on this design. What do you all think of this design? I think it’s a nice way to have some Disney fun, but keep it subtle!

Dooney & Bourke collectors and Disney fans, the wait is over! A couple of new collections are set to debut May 12 at Disney Vault 28 at the Disneyland Resort.

First up, is the Retro collection, this new line will be available in a variety of popular silhouettes including a wristlet, mini barrel, tassel tote, satchel, letter carrier as well as an iPad case. Prices range from $78 – $268.

The Retro collection, which will remain exclusive to the Disneyland Resort, is sure to be hit with Disney guests. “The word ‘Retro’ is certainly the best and most accurate way to describe this collection,” says Susan Foy, Disney Design Group Graphic Designer. “From the attraction, character and icon choices to the distinct color palette, it really gave us a great opportunity to incorporate a lot of detail into such an intricate design.” I asked Susan what her favorite icon was from the print, and her response was simple, “Sleeping Beauty Castle, because it was created first and really set the tone for how the rest of it would lay out.” When it’s said and done, there’s almost something magical when you think about it that way.

Another collection debuting the same day on both coasts (at Tren D and Disney Vault 28) is “Buttons.” So make plans now to stop by Disney Vault 28 on May 12 and pick up some of this year’s must have accessories from Dooney & Bourke.

Special Note: Creative Director for Dooney & Bourke, Ian Ray will be on hand from 2pm – 5pm for a special appearance and signing of these new collections.

Those tracking Disney Dooney & Bourke auctions on ebay spotted these new styles this week. Thanks once more to Shelley C. for capturing these photos for us at Downtown Disney’s TrenD shop. Let’s see the newest Disney Dooney designs – the Gwenny Large Tote, the Large Erica and Zippered Wristlets in black and white, and red white and blue. They are canvas with leather handles and accents.

We’ve seen the Disney Cruise Line Dooney & Bourke designs for a while now but with the christening of the brand new floating kingdom, the Disney Dream, an entire new design has been created and is now on sale for the inaugural year of sailings. There was some worry that these new bags would only be available for the actual first inaugural sailing but rest assured, when a new ship debuts, its entire first year is considered the inaugural year. How long into the year these styles will last remains to be seen of course! We can also now assume or hope at least that when the Fantasy sails into Port Canaveral, we will be treated to another exclusive design from Dooney & Bourke. I want to extend special thanks to StitchKingdom for the permission to share his photos below. Be sure to visit his site if you don’t already, he has tons of reviews and info on the Dream’s inaugural voyage!

NEW Peace-Love-Mickey-Live-Laugh-Minnie Disney Dooney & Bourke Bags

On the last Disney Dooney & Bourke Balloon Design post, I mentioned there was another style – a blue denim background with writing on it – the Erica style of Dooney & Bourke’s fabric line. Thanks in part to Tonya2426 on the DIS Boards, I am able to share some more pictures with you.

EDIT: I have now been to Tren-D again and seen these new designs in person so I have a bit more to add. I tried to capture this on the picture below, but the writing on these new bags is actually raised up and has a velveteen flocked feel. I didn’t realize that in all the other pictures, so I wanted to pass that information along to those making their lists and checking them twice with these new styles that keep coming out! 🙂

This style is definitely more subtly “Disney” while being graphically trendy. I’m not a big denim person, but I can see how this would appeal to lots of teens and those that want to show their Disney love without big Mickeys everywhere. What do you think of the new style?

In an interesting turn of events, Disney has decided to release its newest design collaboration with Dooney & Bourke online first. The new Princess designs are at the Disney Store online.
