New Disney Dooney & Bourke Design to Debut This Summer

I was honored to be able to attend Disney’s Monstrous Summer event last week, which revealed all sorts of fun news, including upcoming events and merchandise. Of course the first thing I had to share was the new Disney Dooney & Bourke design which so many have been ~~patiently~~ waiting for.

It looks as though right now there are three styles for this new design, which will be released this summer, hopefully soon! Pricing and the name of the design are yet to be revealed by keep checking back as I’ll update this post as I get more official info from Disney. Until then, enjoy the photos of the new Mickey and Minnie text design, with Mickey and Minnie heads in the familiar bright colors used on the black background styles :

And yes, those are the Disney Vera Bradley designs to the right, which will be out this September! To the bottom you can take a peek at the new Disney Ray-Ban sunglasses featuring a black and white Mickey Mouse print. We’ll have more info on the Ray-Bans as it’s available! They’re BAAAACK – Disney Dooney & Bourke 2013 Tinker Bell Half Marathon Bags!

The Tinker Bell Disney Dooney & Bourke Bags are perhaps the most asked-about designs of all the Disney Dooneys to date. I SO wish they’d release them as a regular bag as well, but until then, you can snag one by registering for the 2013 Tinker Bell Half Marathon at Disneyland – taking place January 19-20 next year. By extremely popular demand, runDisney has decided to re-release the commemorative Tink Dooney & Boourke purses that it sold for the inaugural Tinker Bell Half Marathon in Disneyland.

More photos of the bags at last year’s Tinker Bell Half Marathon post – the design is the same with a new 2013 commemorative hang tag.

Purses must be pre ordered through Active.com by a registered participant. Only 2 bags per person. This should eliminate some of the issues from last year, where bags sold out in minutes!

$246.00 – Dooney & Bourke Small Shopper

Purses must be picked up at the Disneyland Hotel event merchandise location on Friday, January 18th (11am – 7pm) or Saturday, January 19th (9am – 5pm). Any Dooney & Bourke Purses not picked up at the Expo will not be mailed and will not be refunded. Quantities are limited.

20th Anniversary Walt Disney World Marathon Disney Dooney and Bourke Bags

Keeping up with the tradition of limited edition Disney Dooney and Bourke handbag designs for the Run Disney half marathon races, Disney has come out with a new design for the 20th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Marathon.

A blue bag with various Mickey Mouse silhouettes in different designs, this bag is less about racing icons and more about the Big Cheese himself. There is one version of Mickey in a running pose, which is what sets this design apart from previous Mickey designs. There will also be a special WDW Marathon hang tag as was on the previous RunDisney Dooney & Bourke limited edition bags. limThe pricing for the bags are: $280.00 for the Dooney & Bourke Satchel Purse and $200.00 for the Dooney & Bourke Letter Carrier Purse. The prices include tax and a non-refundable processing fee.

This time around Disney has gotten smart and set up the bags for pre-purchase at their active.com race registration site. There is a maximum 2 bag purchase per registration. Hopefully these new stipulations will ensure less eBay poachers and more fans of the bags themselves.

NEW Disney Dooney & Bourke Cruise Line Nylon Backpack

I was recently on the Disney Dream, (for the first time ever!) and of course, had to check out the Disney Dooney & Bourke options on board. The first night we were at sea and the stores were open, I got some photos of the Disney Dooney DCL bags but nothing jumped out at me as a ‘must-get’. Then, we were at Nassau and Castaway Cay for the next two days and the shops were closed tight. On our last day at sea, I sauntered back in and something caught my eye. The new nylon Disney Dooney backpacks which we’d seen a few months ago at the TrenD debut and meet-up, were in front of me – in the Disney Cruise Line Fantasy Inaugural design! This design was already my favorite, but it was hard for me to justify another bag when I rarely use something big in the parks, and the smaller sizes didn’t really show much of the beautiful design. This backpack called to me, however and I knew then, it had to be mine! 😉

Isn’t it adorable? It’s got a gorgeous hot pink lining too, with ample pockets inside. I just love the color palette and how it incorporates all the Disney Cruise Line ships of the Magic, Wonder, Dream and Fantasy, as well as little touches of things you’ll find on the ships. This is the same design from the Fantasy Inaugural, without the Inaugural hang-tag addition. It’s the perfect size for the parks and the non-leather straps and nylon fabric make it lightweight and easy to care for. I’ve used it in the parks only one time and was stopped by about 10 people telling me how adorable it was and how that was exactly the purse they wanted. Definitely a fun accessory!

NEW EXCLUSIVE Disney Fantasy Inaugural Dooney & Bourke Bags-Gorgeous!

I think these might be my favorite designs yet. They are completely different from the front-and-center Disney designs we’ve seen in the past, and in fact, I think if people didn’t look closely, they might not even see that these are Disney branded. I love the almost tattoo-like designs for the Disney Fantasy. Hopefully some day I’ll make it on the ship myself to pick one up.

The new collection is making its grand debut on the Maiden Voyage of the Disney Fantasy later this month. The collection, which will remain exclusive to the Disney Fantasy until later this summer, is sure to be hit with Disney Fantasy guests. “The new collection will be exclusive to the Disney Fantasy until later this summer when it will spread to the rest of the fleet,” explained Laura Caszatt, product developer for Accessories. “To make the new collection even more enticing for Disney Fantasy guests, the select collection silhouettes on the Disney Fantasy will feature leather embossed luggage tags that showcases it was part of the Inaugural Disney Fantasy Voyages.”

In addition, the Disney Parks Blog revealed that a new line will be coming out for the Disney Cruise Line Hawaiian sailings. For those that want a subtle Disney theme with a more recognizably nautical look:

Disney World Princess Half Marathon Dooney & Bourke Bags!

2014 Edit: Here are the 2014 Princess Half Marathon Disney Dooney & Bourke bags!

UPDATE: I was just in TrenD last night at Downtown Disney in Walt Disney World, and was surprised to see a Princess Half bag on the shelf. I noticed there wasn’t a Princess Half Marathon hang tag on it, so we asked to see it up close and sure enough, it’s the same bag as below, without the special WDW Princess Half Marathon hanging charm. The cast member said they just arrived and as of last night, that was the only style they had in the Princess print. Interesting! Not sure if they just had a few left over or if they will be releasing all the styles in this print soon. I will of course, report more as I find out. Here are the photos I took last night:

They again feature a Half Marathon logo hanging tag like the Tinker Bell Half Marathon did. I love the college-look to the design and the color scheme as well. Tinker Bell Disney Dooney & Bourke Bags to Debut at Disneyland Half Marathon

Ok, now it’s bad enough that Disneyland’s inaugural 1/2 Marathon has a Tinker Bell theme and I will not be able to attend (or run for that matter!) but now DisneyParks Blog has just announced that a new Disney Dooney & Bourke bags with the Tink design will also debut for the weekend! Torture, I tell ya!

Here’s what we know so far:

It looks like there are three styles, all previously released – the Medium Tote will be $198, Letter Carrier will be $168 and Flap Wristlet will be $49. The Art of Disney Parks site notes that these purses will feature the special inaugural Disneyland 1/2 Marathon hanging tags – the green tag shown in the photos. This is the first time the name of an event will ever be placed on a Disney Dooney & Bourke bag. I personally love the design, and may have to contact my Disneyland pals to pick me up one! I may not be running THIS half marathon, but I will some day! 😉

Here is some new information about the bags:

My source tells me from their understanding they won’t be carried online at this point. They are also advising guests who are interested that they will need to wait until after the marathon to inquire with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Merchandise Guest Services at 1-877-560-6477 or send an email to: [email protected]

NEW Aulani Resort Disney Dooney Bags in Hawaii

Well, Disney and Dooney & Bourke have done it again. With the grand opening of Disney’s newest Disney Vacation Club (DVC) property in Oahu, Hawaii, we Disney Dooney & Bourke fans have been treated to a new design available exclusively at the Aulani resort. Anyone heading to Hawaii and willing to take orders? 😉 As always, click to enlarge photos:

Thoughts? I love the color print and the muted colors in it. Actually, I would love to see one for the deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World, but I know that’s probably an extreme long-shot! In the meantime, I’ll be saving pennies to get to Aulani. Mahalo!
