Be a Good Witch AND a Bad Witch with Urban Decay’s New Palettes

There are so many movie/pop culture-make-up crossovers lately, it may be hard to keep up, but one I was instantly enamored with was Urban Decay’s The Glinda Palette and Urban Decay’s The Theodora Palette. UD is my favorite brand of eye shadows (so many sparkles!) and I tend to get a little obsessed with their new releases. This is no exception. The two sets are just gorgeous and seem to have a color for any occasion, eye color, or style. See the hues below:

Urban Decay Oz Palette

Urban Decay Glinda Palette

From UD’s description: Inspired by the Disney film’s theme of good witch vs. bad witch (and the good witch/bad witch dichotomy in all of us), Urban Decay created two collectible palettes loaded with beautiful, never-before-seen shades. Recreate Glinda’s ethereal, spellbinding look with eight all new and exclusive eye shadows in six pans (this set includes two duo-shades that are split in half, with a different color on each side of the pan).

Fellow blogger Estelle from ThisHappyPlaceBlog.com picked up the Glinda palette and had these photos to share:

From UD’s description: Inspired by the Disney film’s theme of good witch vs. bad witch (and the good witch/bad witch dichotomy in all of us), Urban Decay created two collectible palettes loaded with beautiful, never-before-seen shades. Urban Decay’s The Glinda Palette and Urban Decay’s The Theodora Palette are $49 each and available now. Now go get them before someone drops a house on you too! 😉

It may feel like winter will never end in some parts of the world, but Disney and LeSportsac are ready to infuse a little spring into your life with their latest designs for the Mary Blair-inspired collection. I wasn’t a huge fan of the winter designs, but they have won me over again with these whimsical colors and styles, this time paying homage to the country of Holland!

From LeSportsac’s blog: “…our carefree Dutch girls Saskia, Kalie and Brandie urge us to toss our devices and enjoy a sun-kissed afternoon on a bicycle!  The Kalie Charm comes with the handkerchief-style print Well Wishes, as well as the embroidered placement tote Blooming Joy which features a Delft blue inspired needlepoint print brimming with bright pink daffodils and tulips.” Let’s see what’s in store for us:

LeSportsac Disney Spring 2013

LeSportsac Disney Spring 2013

LeSportsac Disney Spring 2013

More info from LeSportsac’s blog: “Adding to the Small World capsule is the latest installation of Mary Blair’s original artwork.  See the World reworks the the world’s icons into a placement tote with beige and pastel contrasts, while our familiar geometric facade print continues with Global Journey in this color palette. Smaller styles in Global Journey include the Time To Share Double Coin Charm, while the larger styles and the See the World Tote come with the highly anticipated Multi Landmark Charm. It is sure to steal hearts all over!” I am pretty sure I need one of these styles!

“Share Your Dreams embroidery  is a subtler beige and cream print, with small colorful embroidered impressions of the world’s icons sprinkled throughout and features cream tipped handles and straps. It includes the Share Your World Coin Charm on the larger styles, and the smaller styles come with the Time To Share Double Coin Charm.”

In the continuing Disney Dream Portrait series by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, the Disney Parks Blog released the latest celebrity to pose. This time around Taylor Swift is transformed into Rapunzel, which seems like a natural fit for the singer known for singing her heart out and sharing her emotions within her songs.

New Images for Monsters University – College Life for Mike & Sulley

Before watching The Hobbit last weekend, there was a fun little “advertisement” for Monsters University, in the tone of many college commercials we see these days. I was unable to find the video online to share here, but I’ll keep an EYE out for it. 😉 In the meantime, enjoy these newly released images from Monsters University and be sure to check out MonstersUniversity.com for some incredible marketing about the upcoming film, which I can’t wait to see.

MONSTERS UNIVERSITY

MONSTERS UNIVERSITY

MONSTERS UNIVERSITY

Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

Screaming with laughter and fun, Monsters University is directed by Dan Scanlon (Cars, Mater and the Ghostlight, Tracy) and produced by Kori Rae (Up, The Incredibles, Monsters, Inc.). The film opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2013, and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.

Epcot’s Candlelight Processional Adds a New Story to its Christmas Tradition

The beautiful and moving Candlelight Processional is now a favorite tradition each holiday season. Each celebrity narrator adds their own touch and something special to the Christmas story as they speak the words we all know so well. This year I was able to enjoy both Neil Patrick Harris and Lea Salonga, both very different, but wonderful in their own right.

Candlelight Processional

In between the Christmas story pieces, the talented orchestra and Voices of Liberty singers join a Cast Member chorale and area high school students to bring traditional holiday favorite songs to life. The songs are a perfect mix of classics which move you and fill you with the spirit of the season. This year, a new story prefaced Silent Night, adding to the rich tapestry of the candlelight performance. We were told about a town without an organ and a man who wrote a poem to welcome the birth of Jesus. The man’s son could play the guitar, but only 4 chords, and thus Silent Night was born.

At the end of each performance, I am left filled with joy and appreciation for the true meaning of the holiday. It is a must-do for anyone visiting Walt Disney World during the holiday season. The best bet for guaranteed seats is purchasing a Candlelight Dining Package, available by calling 407-WDW-DINE. Several shows remain this season, be sure to head out to see this beautiful spectacle.

PHOTO TOUR of the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights!

Walking around the corner at Disney’s Hollywood Studios onto New York Street and seeing the overwhelming amount of holiday lights displayed at the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is one of those must-do moments for me, that takes my breath away every year. If I could figure out a way to move into one of those Brownstones on the street, I would pack up in a heartbeat. Heck, I’d even live above the T.P. Tree! 😉 It is such a gift that Disney gives us each year, the beautiful lights, the music, a way to pause and enjoy the wonder and spirit of the season. It’s impossible not to go home happy.

I have so many wonderful memories tied into these lights – with my dad, who loved them as much as I do and loved the Studios too, my mom, as we tear up remembering the times with my dad, my older kids when they were little – I can still picture my now almost-14-year-old son sitting in his stroller, reaching his hand out to catch the “snow” as it fell, and now my youngest gets to experience it all as well and more and more memories are made each year. The past few years I’ve added memories with friends and other locals too. It’s just such a great place to wander and hang out. No parades or fireworks to line up for, just relax and enjoy the sights and sounds that envelope you at every turn.

So without further ado, lets take a look at some highlights from my most recent visit:

Disney’s Art of Animation Celebrates its First Christmas

Disney's Art of Animation Christmas twinkling tree

With such a colorful entrance into the Disney resort family, Art of Animation resort was in my sights to check out for the holidays to see just what Disney had up its sleeve to decorate their newest resort. Being a Value, or Value Plus resort, of course the Christmas decorations will be a little more low-key than say the Deluxe resorts. Still, it was fun to see and the decor definitely fits into the resort’s capture of the animation process.

Like the overall theme of Disney’s Art of Animation, the Christmas decor starts off colorless, like a blank page, with sketches. As you progress through the lobby, color is added and as a fan of rainbow colors and white Christmas trees, I was in heaven! It’s a very fun, colorful display, that just makes you happy. All that’s missing are those fun rainbow candy canes my mom always used to get!
